Introduction
flyport is a carefully designed standardized passenger terminal. flyport can be built in the shortest time possible, offers flexible use and layout, and can be customized to your needs. flyport development and its partners have years of experience in airport planning, the airport business, the retail trade and leisure industry, and have developed flyport, the modular airport terminal, based on this experience.
Advantages
flyport is a terminal solution of modular construction that can be customized to the client's needs. At a time when the demand for passenger capacity is growing significantly, it offers a fast, flexible and individual solution. Airlines and airport operators find in flyport a solution that complies with international regulations and standards and that is scaleable for the future expansion and completion of existing terminals, the establishment of new sites as well as temporary coverage of unanticipated needs.
flyport is highly flexible in regard to changing capacity requirements, layout and other functions. flyport meets the most varied regional requirements, whether pertaining to passenger numbers, local infrastructure, legal regulations or climate conditions. flyport can be delivered to sites in Europe as well as in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Pacific Rim and North America.
The business
flyport, the modular terminal, is manufactured by flyport-System, a partnership made up of leading German businesses.
This partnership of experienced German enterprises guarantees the customer the requisite building quality in terms of design, manufacture and construction. This system offers a solid foundation for the secure operation of your terminal. flyport can be built on a site prepared for this purpose in seven to nine months (not including transport time) from the date it is ordered.
Passenger routes
In its basic form, flyport is designed to accommodate between 0.5 and 1.5 million passengers a year. Thanks to its modular construction, flyport can easily be adapted to deal with fewer or larger numbers of passengers.
flyport offers seamless operation in all areas of passenger services. flyport's passenger routes are well structured, fast and comfortable. In the main hall are versatile service facilities. The departure area accommodates nine standard check-in counters and a reception counter for oversize baggage. Self-service check-in facilities can be located directly at the entrance to flyport. Airline passengers who need help checking in can approach staff at the centrally located information counter.
Airline passengers must pass through the obligatory security screen that is located directly in the main hall, and continue through to the departure area and gates. The departure area is based on an open plan layout without further internal partitioning. Departing passengers are directed to their national or international gate via display panels. All gates are at ground level on level 01. Passengers leave the terminal at the gate and board a bus that takes them along the apron to their plane.
Arriving passengers are led through passport control and take their baggage from two conveyor belts in the arrivals area, which is also on the ground floor. Passing through customs, passengers then find themselves in the public main hall.
Space layout and areas
flyport provides usable floor space of around 4,200 m² on the first and second floors. The first floor includes the area for passenger clearance, various service areas, as well as retail space. On the second floor, there is a public restaurant for passengers with a view of the runway. There are also staff areas and a central control area. The optional third and fourth floors are designed for office space.
Construction
flyport's layout for 0.5 to 1.5 million passengers a year comprises around 400 modules. Prefabricated in Germany, the units can be transported anywhere. The modular design, which is based on standard 20' ISO containers, means that the flyport can be transported by lorry, train, boat and plane.
The terminal area comprises a building that is 91m long and 37m wide.
The terminal can be up to four storeys high, including the office floors, of which the first and second floors are dedicated to direct passenger clearance and commercial services.
A standardized roof of modular construction covers three clear span halls (departure and arrivals areas and a public main hall). The side rooms are preinstalled modules that are put together and prepared for operation on site. Depending on the complexity of the set-up chosen, local specialist companies can complete the installation of the building in consultation with the manufacturer. The life expectancy and maintenance of the building is the same as that of any other conventional building.
Thanks to the modular construction principle, the terminal can be disassembled easily and efficiently, if required.
Standards
flyport has been developed in three standards: a high, middle and basic standard, according to the needs of the user or the operating authority. The high standard is intended for permanent, regional airport business, the middle standard for permanent or temporary terminal expansion. The basic standard is geared towards the low-cost terminal market.
The three standards differ in terms of their interior design as well as their outer appearance and set-up. The chosen standard can be upgraded retrospectively, if required. All three levels comply with obligatory international regulations and standards.
